LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS


The Library Rules and Regulations are introduced to regularize the use of our library resources and to review periodically to meet the changing needs

  • Silence should be strictly maintained in the library.
  • Users are not allowed inside the library with their personal belongings like Hand Bags, Umbrellas, Jerkins, Parcels, Files, Note Books, etc.
  • Lose sheets can only be taken.
  • Students wearing shorts, paijama, night dresses, round neck and printed T-shirts, etc will not be allowed inside the library. Formal dress code should be followed.
  • Users must be decently dressed and with proper behaviour in the library.
  • Scan your ID card in the barcode reader while entering & exiting the library.
  • Users should possess their ID card while they are inside the library.
  • Users are not allowed to reserve seats in the library.
  • The arrangement of chairs and other furniture in the reading area should not be disturbed.
  • Do not leave your valuable things inside the library.
  • Management will not hold the responsibility for any loss or misplacement of personal belongings.
  • Use of Mobiles is strictly prohibited inside the library.
  • Newspapers must be read only in the tables allotted for News paper reading and should not be taken to any other reading areas.
  • Do not mix and replace the lending & reference books. Keep it on the table only after reading to avoid misplacement.
  • Readers should not mark, underline, write, tear pages or damages the library Books and Journals.
  • No library material can be taken out of the library without proper entry and permission.

BOOK ISSUES AND RETURNS


The books taken from the library are to be returned within 15 days on or before the due date specified on the due date slip pasted in the front page of the books.

  • While borrowing the book, the member must make sure that the book is in good condition and the page numbers are intact.
  • The staff/students are entitled to return the books as and when they are called by the Chief Librarian or Library professionals.
  • Books cannot be issued to a user if he/she has any overdue book.
  • Reference books will be issued only on Over-night issue.
  • Non-book materials like CD and DVD are also issued only on Overnight issue.
  • The borrower shall be responsible for any loss caused to the library documents borrowed.
  • If a book is lost by the borrower, the Librarian should be immediately informed in writing and the same should be traced and replaced within 15 days from the due date.
  • If the borrower is not able to replace the book for the book lost within two weeks, they have to pay the cost of the book in three times. If a book is replaced, current edition of the book with bill will only be accepted.
  • If the book/resource forms a part of a series/volume, the borrower will be charged for the replacement of the Entire Set.
  • Library resources are the nation’s assets and belong to all. All users are having the responsibility to protect the library resources against the wanton and willful-damage, mutilation, theft and other malpractices.
  • Current Journals/Back volumes and Locker books are not issued for home reading. They are to be referred inside the library only.
  • Users are allowed to take the photocopies of the required articles.
  • While accessing the E-resources of the library, proper entries are to be made in the records of the library. Downloading of the information is also permitted.
  • Accessing unwanted and unnecessary information from the internet is strictly prohibited.
  • Photocopying of full - book is also not permitted.
